Renewal of Australian driver’s licences while overseas
To renew your Australian driver’s licence while in New Zealand, contact the relevant driver licensing authority directly for the relevant renewal forms and requirements. Conditions, fees, and residency requirements may apply.
Some States and Territories require that the form or the photo be witnessed by an Australian consular or diplomatic officer. Please read the licence renewal forms and requirements carefully. If the form or photo must be witnessed by an Australian consular or diplomatic officer, this may be done at the Australian High Commission in Wellington or the Australian Consulate-General in Auckland. No appointment is necessary. Click here for the current prices.
The Australian High Commission and Australian Consulate-General are not responsible for the processing of your application for the renewal of your driver’s licence and you must forward your application directly to the relevant driver licensing authority.
