Full validity passport (32 pages)
NZ$297.00 adult (over 18 years) - 10 year passport
NZ$149.00 minor (under 18 years of age) - five year passport
NZ$149.00 senior citizen (75 years and over) - five year passport
Frequent traveller (64 pages)
NZ$447.00 adult (over 18 years) - 10 year passport

Additional penalty fees for lost/stolen passports
The following fees are applicable if you are replacing a current passport that has been lost or stolen (see page five of the passport application form for more information).
NZ$131.00 one document lost/stolen in the past five years
NZ$297.00 two documents lost/stolen in the past five years
NZ$594.00 three or more documents lost/stolen in the past five years
Emergency passport
NZ$131.00 all persons
Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you may be issued an urgent, four page, limited validity emergency passport (issued within two working days - not including postage time). Payment for such applications can only be made by eftpos, bank cheque or money order. Not all passport applications are eligible for this service. Please contact one of our offices prior to lodging your application. Due to its limited validity, an emergency passport may not be suitable for some types of travel or visa applications.

Payment options
Fees may change due to exchange rates fluctuations. Please contact one of our offices to confirm the passport fee, prior to lodging your application.
Passport processing time is 10 working days provided all requirements are met. Please allow extra days for courier time within New Zealand.
To avoid delays please ensure your identifier is easily contactable by telephone during normal business hours.
The Australian High Commission in Wellington accepts cheques or money orders made payable to the Australian High Commission. Please do not send postdated cheques. Eftpos facility available for applications lodged in person. Credit cards not accepted.
The Australian Consulate General in Auckland accepts cheques made payable to the Australian Consulate General or the Australian Trade Commission. Eftpos/credit card facility available for applications lodged in person only.
Please note money orders are not accepted at the Australian Consulate-General.
