Visas and Immigration
For information about applying for a visa to enter Australia, please visit: www.ttsaustralia.com
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) manages the movement of people into and out of Australia. It administers Australia's migration program, including the granting of permanent residence visas, citizenship, refugee settlement and ethnic affairs.
From Monday 28 November 2011, all visa and citizenship applications in New Zealand will be lodged at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Auckland (a second AVAC will be opening in Christchurch early next year). An AVAC service fee of NZD$28 for all visa applications will be applicable.
Please note: If you are awaiting an outcome of an application lodged at the Consulate-General before November 28, your passport will be available for collection from the AVAC from this date.
All applications will continue to be assessed and decided by DIAC staff at the Australian Consulate-General in Auckland.
Contact details for the AVAC are available here.
