New visa application lodgement process

The Australian Consulate-General is pleased to announce new visa lodgement arrangements in New Zealand.

From Monday November 28 2011, all visa and citizenship lodgements in New Zealand, regardless of nationality, will need to be lodged at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Auckland (a second AVAC will be opening in Christchurch in 2012).

The AVAC will be open from 8.30am — 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

AVAC services will include:
• pre-lodgement enquiries
• visa lodgement
• application tracking
• return of decisions/passports.

An application service fee of $28 NZD will be applicable.
